So Who Is This Guy?

pureandtrueJ.C. Delgado was born in the city of Aviario, CT and grew up in an era where being a teenager meant the best the 90s had to offer - and that somehow, he still classifies as A Millenial, what the hell. He was a decent student, and kicked butt on the recreational debate team. After graduation, he went out to California to pursue a degree in computers because That Was Where The Family Said The Money Was, and ran into a lot of stress-related problems... because it wasn't actually what he wanted. (Spoiler: he didn't actually know what he wanted, he just thought The Family was right.)
The biggest of his college problems was that he'd learned to use alcohol as a coping mechanism, and when he realized he'd grown himself a bonafide Drinking Problem, he dropped out of college and checked himself into rehab. He came out sober with a newfound love for mindfulness and all things zen, and a renewed interest in social service and activism. He did mostly non-profit work to build his resume up, learning basic handyman skills and earning certificates for plumbing and electric work, then came back to Connecticut as a handyman for hire. He landed a job at the town social services building, Journey, maintaining the property where folks in recovery and children waiting for foster care live.
For the purpose of memes or AUs, he's generally someone whose work comes well-renowned through word of mouth: he wouldn't be able to build a house from scratch with his bare hands by himself, but if it needs repairs, he can fix it, and he's a really easy guy to be around. He also makes a mean cup of loose-leaf tea or a chicken quesadilla if you just need a few minutes of downtime.
As far as interests go: he likes reggae, comedies, the occasional feel-good family movie (don't ask him how many times he's seen The Kid), basketball, hiking, and going for long drives to nowhere in particular just to see what's out there.
Preferences:
- Bi, leaning towards M/M at the moment since he's still sort of ... exploring that end of things
- FTB for smut threads
- NO relapse threads, please. I'm comfortable playing out pre-rehab or during, but he doesn't intend to backslide.
- No massive injuries or death
- Easily AU'd into fantasy or supernatural settings, if you want!
